If you are not a member of ESRC but would like to attend a rally to watch or even have a go yourself to see what you think please contact the organizers and we can arrange a guest entry. All dismounted activities can be attended by non members.

Sun 4th

New Year Fun with Judi Kemp
Find out how good and handy your horse is, and whether your horse can negotiate various obstacles correctly.
Venue: Burnhill Green Farm ménage.
Session Time: Starts at 10.30

Sun 11th

Karen Oliver rally
Building confidence and improving your techniques. Please let Sam know if there is anything in particular you would like to work on when booking in. Karen is getting to be a regular favourite and the school at Wood Farm is a nice riding surface for both flatwork and jumping. Price includes lighting if it gets a bit dark.
Venue: Indoor school at Wood Farm, Sedgley.
Session Times: Two one hour sessions 3.30pm and 4.30pm. Sessions will be tailored to the group and be either flatwork, polework or jumping, depending on the demand.
Price: £14 per rider.

Ticky Fletcher Clinic
Ticky is well known to the club, a very experienced and well qualified instructor, and renowned for her ability to get what’s best for you and your horse during these sessions, in a sympathetic and considerate way. Rodbaston indoor school is HUGE and a great place to ride in!
Venue: Rodbaston indoor arena.
Session Times: 2 sessions 2pm and 3pm. One jumping, one flatwork.
Price: £16 per rider to include venue costs.

Kelly is back to challenge us again with her many varied polework exercises. Polework is a great gymnastic exercise for the horses, and helps to develop those equine muscles correctly as well as make schooling fun for you and your horse

Moray Nicholson BHSI clinic for Showjumping or Dressage
Moray is well known and a regular visitor to the club, he has an observant, kind and intuitive teaching style, appealing to all levels of rider, and no matter at what level, will get the best from both yourself and your horse.  Call Sue if you’d like to chat to someone else in the club who books his lessons.
Venue: Wood Farm Sedgley (Sat), Brewood (Sun).

Tues 27th Nibbles and Natter! A social evening has been organised for Tuesday 27th January at the Bell Inn, Trysull. This will include a talk about the club and what we do (if you think any of your friends might wonder what a riding club could do for them), a bit about the teams and representing the club, and a bit about our planned events for 2009. We’ll make sure there’s something to eat if you’re hungry and of course there’ll be a bar if you develop a thirst from all that talking!

Melanie Mitchell Clinic
Melanie is now a regular feature on our programme so needs little introduction, but to anyone who hasn’t tried one of her clinics yet, she is a British Dressage Registered Pyramid Trainer & Dressage judge. Her down to earth, understandable teaching style and judging experience make her the ideal instructor to improve your flatwork and dressage skills, as well as ensuring your horse works up a sweat!
Venue: Brewood.
Session Times: 9am-1pm.

Thurs 19th Winter care through the eyes of the vet
SueTaylor will be presenting this insight into a vet’s eye view of how to care for your horse/s throughout the winter months.
Venue: Pigot Arms, Pattingham.
Session starts 7.30pm.

Sat 28th Dressage to Music workshop
A training day designed to explain how to choose appropriate music for your horse, including editing to match beats per minute, creating a floor plan and timing for your free style test and completing all the necessary paperwork, licence etc. A wide range of music will be provided. Martin Carruthers will be on site with computer to show you how to edit and produce your own C.D at low cost. Demonstrations from horses of different gaits. Hot drinks available. Open to all Area 20 members.
A follow up lesson will be arranged for March for those wishing to take this further (please advise Bev if this would be of interest to you).
Venue: Tushingham Arena, Whitchurch.
Session Time: 1.30-4.30

Thurs 5th Dismounted event (non ESRC): Vet care for laminitics, farrier and feed talk from D&H
Sue Taylor has told us of this evening she has planned along with Theresa Holland, feed specialist from Dodson & Horrell, supported by a local farrier, on the topic of all aspects of care for horses with, or prone to, this debilitating condition. All welcome, open forum afterwards for your questions.
Venue: Pattingham Village Hall.
Session starts 7.30pm

Sat 28th Cross Country with Leigh-Ann Adams
One session for newbies to the sport or the nervous (18”), then novice at 2’3” (2’6” max). Bissell wood is a very rider and horse-friendly course and a great way to try cross-country if you’ve always fancied it but want an easy introduction!
If interested at a higher level than 2’3”, Chris will happily organise other session/s at Stourport UK Chasers in April. Please let her know if you are interested in doing this.
