“You’ll be wanting to know what I had for breakfast next!”
Q- How long have you been riding?
A- Since I was a child
Q- When did you join ESRC?
A- 2001
Q- Who inspires you in the equine world?
A- Jane Dotchin. To be able to still be 80+ and still hacking, meeting new friends and having fun with your horse, isn’t that what it’s all about?
Q- What’s your favourite horse discipline?
A- Show Jumping
Q- If you could own any horse past or present who would it be?
A- I would say my Witty. She was my heart horse and my world. But without losing her, I wouldn’t have had Beauty with my little cob. So no matter how much it hurts, you can still fall in love again, it’s just a different feeling.
Q- What’s your silliest horse related injury?
A- Falling off my trailer ramp and dislocating my ankle.
Q- TB or Cob?
A- Cob
Q- HOYS or Olympia?
A- Hoya
Q- Mare or Gelding?
A- For myself to ride mares, but both my daughter’s ponies are geldings and their personalities are amazing. Can I choose both?
Q- What’s your horsey pet hate?
A- Haynets! I hate how people use the knobbly bit at the top to tie it. You can’t untie it from the end, spend a good 5mins holding it up, and need your glasses to see as you’re getting older and can’t see the loop! There is supposed to be a quick release system when tying haynets but most people (adults!) still don’t know this!
