Welcome to our ESRC website
We are an affiliated
British Riding Club in Area 5.
We started back in the 1970’s with only 16 members. Now, we currently have around 205 members consisting of both Junior riders, Senior riders and also Non-riding members.
As a club we aim to create an enjoyable and educational riding environment for all of our members.
We hold regular lessons throughout the year for many disciplines:
Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross Country, Showing, Arena Eventing, Polework, Handy Horse Obstacle Training & Mounted Games.
Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross Country, Showing, Arena Eventing, Polework, Handy Horse Obstacle Training & Mounted Games.
We also arrange plenty of days out to events such as Badminton Horse Trials & Olympia, and have hosted taster days at Western Riding & Polo. One summer we walked Cheltenham Racecourse with the Head Groundsman Ben Hastie, and we have recently introduced Rider Alignment sessions on a mechanical horse too.
We also host lots of non-horsey social events such as canoeing and our popular Quizzes which we hold twice a year, including our Car Treasure Hunt too….so you can bring you non-horsey partner along to join the fun too.
During the Summer months we hold our monthly Summer Shows where members and non-members can compete, show off their skills and more importantly have a fun day out with their horse or pony.
We have classes in Ridden & In-Hand Showing, Show Jumping and in September we also have fun classes including: Handy Pony, Gymkhana, Fancy Dress & even Doggy Dressage.
We also hold a year round Dressage League on a surface at two fabulous venues: Pennwood (summer) & the Cavalier Centre (winter).
Throughout all of the Shows we hold a points system for our members, with a fantastic awards night at the end of the year for each class (Juniors & Seniors judged separately)
We also hold a yearly Camp at Lincomb which is always fully booked and lots of fun. It includes lessons in Dressage, Show Jumping & Cross Country with a competition at the end and Equestrian talks followed by fun activities in the evenings.
Other fun activities we have run are a visit to the local gallops followed by a hack around the woods after.
And through the summer we run our popular Charity Rides, which are a great way to get to know other members and get young horses out and about. This is followed by a fab picnic in the lorry park afterwards.
Come and join in the fun, make new friends and learn something new with your horse or pony. We are always excited to welcome new faces to our Riding Club.
