Being a Riding Club helper

Probably the most important aspect of running a Riding Club is having kind volunteers on hand to help run it.

We have a very hands on committee, however they do plenty for us already and can’t be expected to do absolutely everything.

So, we rely on forthcoming members and non-members who use up their time to ensure that our events run smoothly.

Luckily for us, we have lots of these kind people.

Did you know it is actually printed in your Membership Terms & Conditions that you MUST volunteer to help with at least one event per year.

There are plenty of ways in which you can help, starting with our Shows. We need helpers to set up the show rings and jumps, and to help run the event on the day.

Taking refreshment orders for our judges, working the ring entrances, parking attendants, adding up scores, taking entries, pole duty… the list goes on!

We need people to run our tuck shop, help with prize giving and assist with the clean up afterwards.

Even at clinics we need helpers to make coffee’s for our instructors, collect payments, make sure everything runs smoothly etc.

Every time you volunteer, your name will go into a hat and then winners will be picked at random at the Awards Evening for prizes. The more times you volunteer, the more chances you have of winning something.

And that’s not all…every volunteer gets a gift from us on the day to say thanks.

Please help us to continue being the well run and organised Riding Club we are, where everything runs smoothly and our events go off without any hiccup.

If you need to arrange your helper day, please contact a member of our committee and they will organise a helper day of your choice for you.
