Super fun and cuteness overload at our ESRC gymkhana games at The Cavalier Centre yesterday morning.
HUGE thanks to judges Lynn Aucott & Kate Jenks who helped everything run so smoothly. Also to Maxine Louise for organising the café which was much appreciated by many.
Thanks to Jo, Lex, Megan, Katie & Kim for helping to set up, and Sophie and Sophie for helping with the games. And of course our wonderful chair Patsy for running this very popular event.
We will be organising another for the Easter holidays with themed fancy dress and prizes.

Say hello to the ladies who make it all happen…..this is ESRC’s wonderful committee: Nikki, Shell, Denise, Chris, Racheal, Patsy, Jenny, Heather, Cath, Lynn, Lucy, Rachel, Claire & Gina
Our committee work tirelessly for the club, organising everything that takes place so we can all show up and enjoy ourselves. On top of the committee we have a lot of wonderful helpers within our club who step in to help the committee run all of our events-for which we are extremely grateful. We are very lucky as a club to have so many forthcoming members who are happy to give up their time for us regularly.
If you are interested in being a helper, we are always grateful for extra pairs of hands….whether it’s stewarding at shows, course building, dressage writing, running the cafe or even manning arenas and working in areas. There are so many jobs to choose from and anything from an hour of help on a show day to a full morning helping at a clinic, you can learn so much and really make a difference to the running of our club.
All of our committee started out as helpers first and we are always keen to welcome fresh new enthusiastic people to join the committee. To find out more about our current committee and what they all do for the club, have a look at our website and click on the page marked ‘Meet The Committee’. Here you can get to know them a little better and see if it’s something you’d like to do in the future.

It’s wonderful to have so many of our members taking part in our winter clinics recently.
Our clinics are for members only as they are so popular, so it wouldn’t be fair to offer places to non members. We also need to ensure that everyone is covered by our clubs Insurance if ever there was an accidental dismount or a horse injury, which is no problem if you’re a member as part of your membership fee covers this.
If you aren’t a member and want to join in the clinics and all the extra benefits members get, go to our website: www.eatshropshireridingclub.org.uk and click on the page marked ‘Membership’ to join today.
If you aren’t a member, you can still attend all of our shows we run:
🔺 Dressage shows at Pennwood & the Cavalier Centre,
🔺Summer Shows at Vicarage Road,
🔺 Hunter Trials at Tong Park Farm,
🔺 Gymkhaa Games at the Cavalier Centre,
🔺 Christmas Shows at the Cavalier Centre & Pennwood.

Due to the snow at the Cavalier Centre and surrounding areas, we have decided to cancel tomorrow’s Dressage League.
It makes a lovely photo for a postcard, but sadly not ideal for running a horse event!
All entries will be forwarded to the next competition which is on Saturday 14th February.

Another fabulous Blow Away The Cobwebs clinic at the the Cavalier Centre with our wonderful Chair Patsy giving the orders.
A Poles group followed by an 80 group followed by a 60 group. Everyone learned loads and the horses were all having a fabulous time. Quite a few swishy tails and bucks after a quiet Xmas period.
Thank you Patsy for the great grids and course practice.

The club has run a number of fund raising activities over the year in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance charity. Our treasurer Jenny added it all up today up it came to just over £680 so we rounded up to £700. What a great amount raised!
Well done all involved, absolutely brilliant.
Monday 22nd December ‘25
We are thrilled to announce the winner of our Facebook poll for next years charity which is the Cavalier Centre.
We run a number of fundraising events throughout the year including our Charity Rides, non horsey socials like our Quizzes and Treasure Hunts and our numerous Raffles at our talks.
We have in the past raised thousands for the Air Ambulance and the Farriers Foundation so it’s great to support a charity this year that we have a direct connection to.
The Cavalier Centre is one of our regular hosts for our Dressage League, Polework clinics, Dressage clinics and more recently one of our Christmas Shows. We are also looking to run a gymkhana league there which proves very popular with our members.
Thanks everyone for voting.

Here are the times for Sundays’s dressage. We have seen 3 different weather warnings for Sunday so we will see what it is like tomorrow and what the arena is like. If it looks like we are going to drown, get blown off, hit by lightning or all 3 then we will make the decision not to run, so fingers crossed the weather is wrong!
